Mariah Wants Female Celebrity Boxing Matches at Vurugu 3

Podcaster Mariah from Mic Cheque has proposed the introduction of female celebrity boxing matches in the next edition of the Vurugu boxing event, saying women in the entertainment industry deserve a chance to participate in the increasingly popular competition.

Speaking during a recent episode of the podcast, Mariah noted that the celebrity boxing series has captured the attention of audiences across Kenya and argued that expanding the format to include women would bring a fresh dynamic to the event.

“Vurugu 3 should include female celebrity boxing matches,” she said during the discussion.

According to Mariah, female entertainers and content creators have large fan bases and competitive personalities that could make for exciting matchups inside the ring.

Mariah Wants Yemi Alade in the Ring

The podcaster also floated the idea of involving regional celebrities if the event expands beyond Kenya’s borders.

Among the names she mentioned was Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Yemi Alade, whom she believes would add excitement and international appeal to the event.

“I want him to include Yemi Alade in that ring,” Mariah remarked.

Her comments have since generated widespread reactions online, with fans debating possible matchups and discussing which female celebrities would make the best competitors.

Fans Support the Proposal

Many social media users quickly embraced the idea, arguing that female celebrity bouts would make the event more inclusive while introducing new rivalries and storylines.

Others pointed out that women in the entertainment industry command equally strong audiences and could attract impressive viewership numbers if matched appropriately.

One fan, identified as Jimmy001.music, commented:

“Female boxing is interesting.”

Supporters of the idea also welcomed the possibility of involving regional stars, saying such a move could transform Vurugu into an East African entertainment spectacle.

Celebrity Boxing Continues to Grow

Celebrity boxing has continued gaining popularity around the world, blending sports and entertainment to create viral moments and massive online engagement.

In Kenya, the Vurugu series has emerged as one of the leading platforms driving that trend by bringing together well-known personalities for professionally organised exhibition fights.

Fight clips, interviews and behind-the-scenes moments from previous editions have consistently trended across social media platforms, attracting millions of views and sparking conversations among fans.

Anticipation Builds for Vurugu 3

Although the official lineup for Vurugu 3 has not yet been announced, Mariah’s proposal has added another layer of excitement and speculation surrounding the event.

Fans are now eagerly waiting to see whether organisers will embrace the idea and introduce female celebrity bouts in what is expected to be one of the biggest entertainment events on the Kenyan social calendar.
