Police in Nairobi are continuing investigations into the mysterious death of Zaituni Kavaya, a woman who died under unclear circumstances at a building in Kilimani, where she was working.

A day after Kavaya’s family received postmortem results indicating she died from blunt force trauma, new footage obtained by Citizen Digital appears to shed light on the moments leading up to the tragedy.

Kavaya reportedly died after falling from the building, sparking protests on Wednesday by her relatives and the domestic workers’ union, who are demanding justice.

Exclusive Video Emerges

The exclusive video shows a man wearing a white shirt on the building’s fifth floor holding Kavaya briefly before letting her go. She then manages to descend to a lower floor. On that floor, three women appear to talk to her, but she continues downward to the third floor.

At this point, she is seen conversing with unidentified individuals before the situation takes a turn. On the third-floor section, enclosed with glass panels, she appears unable to find a firm grip or exit.

Images show Kavaya dressed in a blue outfit with red and black blotches shortly before her death.

Family and Union Demand Justice

On Wednesday, Kavaya’s family and members of the domestic workers’ union marched from Kibera, where she lived, to the Kilimani building where the incident occurred. They later met with Kilimani Police Commander Patricia Yegon to demand answers about what happened.

“We have this case, and we are still investigating. Zaituni will get her justice,” Commander Yegon told reporters.

Investigation Continues

The new footage has fueled public questions about the events surrounding Kavaya’s final moments, with calls for a thorough probe and accountability. All eyes are now on investigators to determine what truly happened before her death.
