For five days — from 1st to 5th September 2025 — Nairobi’s Uhuru Park transformed into a sea of worshippers, prayer tents, and high-powered lights as Rhema Feast celebrated its 10th edition. What began a decade ago as a small apostolic gathering under Rev. Julian Kyula of Ruach Assemblies has now evolved into one of Africa’s most influential Christian conventions.
This year’s theme, “I Will Build My Church” (Matthew 16:18), set the tone for a gathering that was as much about personal renewal as it was about collective mobilization of believers.
Star-Studded Line-Up of Ministers
The festival drew some of the most respected ministers in the African church:
- Sinach, whose songs like Way Maker have crossed continents, led powerful worship sessions that brought thousands to tears.
- Apostle Joshua Selman, founder of Koinonia Global, preached messages on intimacy with God and spiritual capacity building.
- Nathaniel Bassey, trumpet in hand, infused the open-air venue with exuberant praise.
- Other guest speakers included Apostle Felix Okoh, Apostle Funke Felix-Adejumo, Pastor Poju Oyemade, Bishop JB Masinde, Bishop Kathy Kiuna, and Pastor T. Mwangi, alongside a strong contingent of Kenyan gospel leaders.
Many attendees described the ministers’ sessions as “life-changing” and “deeply prophetic.”
A Spiritually Charged Atmosphere
From dawn until late evening, worshippers thronged the park with Bibles, notebooks, and lifted hands. Volunteers in bright vests guided the crowds, while large LED screens ensured those far from the stage could still see and hear clearly.
Live streaming allowed thousands more to join from across Africa, Europe, and the U.S. “I’ve followed Rhema Feast online before, but being here physically is another level,” said Beatrice, a businesswoman from Kisumu. “The atmosphere is electric but peaceful at the same time.”
The Messages that Stood Out
Across the five days, several themes emerged:
- Spiritual Maturity – Apostle Selman emphasized building personal prayer altars and deeper knowledge of Scripture.
- Kingdom Mindset – Sinach and Bassey challenged believers to go beyond events and live out worship daily.
- Marketplace Ministry – Pastor Poju Oyemade and Rev. Kyula used the Business Forum segment to encourage ethical entrepreneurship and Kingdom-driven leadership.
Each message built upon the central theme of Christ building His church not just in congregations, but in workplaces, schools, and families.
Beyond Worship: The Business Forum
Day five introduced a unique twist: a Marketplace Forum aimed at Kingdom-minded entrepreneurs. Kenyan and international business leaders shared insights on innovation, ethical investing, and mentorship. The idea, organizers said, was to empower believers to create lasting social and economic impact.
“This is not just a church event,” Rev. Kyula said. “It’s a Kingdom movement. We want Christians to influence systems and structures with excellence and integrity.”
Logistics and Scale
Pulling off an event of this magnitude required meticulous planning. Over 1,000 staff and volunteers managed security, medical stations, traffic control, digital production, and hospitality. A world-class stage and sound system reportedly cost several million Kenyan shillings.
Travel was also made easier: Kenya Airways offered a 25% discount to attendees using the promo code RHEMA25, underscoring the event’s national and international draw.
Protecting a Sacred Space
The High Court-approved renovations at Uhuru Park provided a stunning backdrop. Green lawns, clean walkways, and improved lighting helped maintain order and safety. Medical tents handled minor emergencies, while Nairobi County authorities supported traffic management around the venue.
Attendees Speak
“I took five days off work to be here,” said James, a young software developer from Mombasa. “The worship alone has been worth it. But what really struck me is the call to influence my industry with Kingdom values.”
Another attendee, Mercy from Kampala, called the festival “a glimpse of heaven”: “Seeing Sinach and Joshua Selman minister live felt like a dream. I’m going back home fired up.”
A Decade of Growth
Since its inception in 2015, Rhema Feast has steadily grown from a few thousand participants to an estimated 80,000–100,000 daily in 2025. Organizers say the event’s success lies in its mix of prophetic preaching, dynamic worship, and practical empowerment.
Looking Ahead
As the curtains fell on the 2025 edition, organizers hinted at plans to expand Rhema Feast’s reach through regional satellite events and more structured mentorship programs. “This is only the beginning,” Rev. Kyula told the crowd. “God is building something far greater than we can see.”
