Nairobi United were officially crowned champions of the 2024/25 FKF National Super League (NSL) on Saturday after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over MOFA at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.
The match was tightly contested, with the decisive goal coming in the 65th minute, sealing what has been a dominant campaign for the Nairobi-based club. United had already booked their spot in the FKF Premier League weeks earlier following consistent performances throughout the season.
Sakaja Foundation Lauds Team’s Success
David Njoroge, Chairman of the Sakaja Foundation, the club’s principal sponsor and owner, congratulated the team on their outstanding achievement.
“We take this opportunity to thank the team for their exemplary performance in clinching the 2024/25 National Super League title. We can only aim higher. The Sakaja Foundation remains committed to sponsoring the club, supporting continued success, and nurturing youth talent across the country,” said Njoroge.
Promotion Sealed with Comeback Win
Nairobi United secured their promotion to the FKF Premier League the previous weekend after an impressive 2-1 comeback victory over 3K FC at Dandora Stadium.
Despite falling behind to a Ronald Karenwa strike in the 12th minute, United leveled the score just before halftime through Frank Ouya. Ouya went on to net the winner in the 78th minute, confirming the club’s long-awaited return to Kenya’s top-flight football league.

The club’s management and sponsors have expressed their commitment to strengthening the squad and continuing to provide a platform for nurturing young talent.
