Bayern Munich vs Ajax Tickets Start at Ksh2,500 as Stadium Inauguration Looms

Kenyans will pay a minimum of Ksh2,500 to watch European giants Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam face off at the Raila Odinga International Stadium on January 5, 2027.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya announced the entry price on Thursday, November 5, as ticket sales opened at 6 pm through the official Talanta Sports City website.

“The tickets will be released in phases across multiple seating categories, with prices starting from as low as Kshs. 2,500, reflecting our commitment to making this exceptional sporting experience accessible to as many Kenyans as possible,” Mvurya stated.

Phased Sales and Premium Options

According to Mvurya, sales will be conducted in phases, with supporters encouraged to buy only through the designated online platform.

Organisers also announced premium seating, including skyboxes and hospitality packages, for fans seeking an elevated matchday experience. Those interested in hospitality are directed to contact organisers via a dedicated email for bookings.

Tickets are available at www.TalantaSportsCity.com, with the CS warning Kenyans against fake websites designed to deceive unsuspecting buyers.

Stadium Inauguration

The fixture will mark the official inauguration of the 60,000-seat stadium, which is in its final stages of completion.

Both clubs have committed in writing to field their strongest possible starting elevens, ruling out a legends match or academy exhibition.

Organisers are also preparing a 12-hour fan festival featuring international artists, concierge services and activities celebrating sport and Kenyan culture around the fixture.

Funding Questions

CS Mvurya confirmed the event is being financed through private-sector collaboration, even as criticism over the funding arrangements continues to grow.

President William Ruto has said the duel between the two clubs — both with significant followings in Kenya — forms part of his promise to honour the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the stadium opens to the public.

AFCON Test Run

The match will also serve as a test run for AFCON PAMOJA 2027, which Kenya will co-host with Uganda and Tanzania starting June 19.
