Naivasha Woman Dies After Parents Beat Her for Coming Home Drunk
This is the tragic story of Virginia Wambui from Naivasha, who lost her life after her parents beat her for returning home drunk.
Wambui had lost her friend last week and had been stressed following her bestie’s death. On Sunday, she decided to go and drink alcohol to relieve the stress. She returned home that night intoxicated.
Parents Beat Her Until She Fainted
When her parents saw her, they were furious and began beating her severely until she fainted. They then dragged her to the gate outside, threw her there, and went to sleep.
On Monday morning, her mother woke up and found Wambui still lying in the same position they had left her. Her mother assumed she was still sleeping off the alcohol and took a bucket of cold water, pouring it all over her. But Wambui did not wake up.
Pronounced Dead at Hospital
That is when the family became worried and decided to take her to the hospital, where they were informed that their daughter had died during the night.
The mother is currently in police custody, while the stepfather escaped and is being sought by police.
A Friend’s Burial, Then Her Own
Wambui’s friend’s burial is scheduled for tomorrow, and now she too has passed away.
