Jacque Maribe Mourns Death of Her Father Mwangi Maribe

Former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe is mourning the death of her father, Mwangi Maribe, whose passing she confirmed through an emotional post on social media.

The journalist revealed that her father had been unwell before his death. Sharing a photo of herself with him, Maribe expressed deep pain and disbelief, describing him as a pillar of strength and love in her life.

“Now what do I tell a man like you? The definition of perfection,” she wrote.

“I do not know how I will live without you, dad, but I know you are not in pain. I love you with everything in me.”

Her heartfelt message quickly drew an outpouring of condolences from friends, colleagues, and supporters who rallied around her and her family during the difficult moment.

Denis Itumbi Pays Tribute

Political strategist and blogger Denis Itumbi, a close friend of Maribe, also paid tribute to the late Mwangi Maribe in a message shared on X.

Itumbi thanked Jacque for introducing him to her father, describing him as warm, kind, and easy to connect with.

“So solid and a man so easy to bond with. There is a photo online that will forever show who he really was — a great and loving dad,” Itumbi wrote.

He added that the image would remain a lasting memory for many people who knew the family and assured Maribe that she was in his prayers.

David Osiany’s Emotional Message

Former Chief Administrative Secretary David Osiany also joined Kenyans in mourning Mwangi Maribe, sharing a deeply emotional tribute despite having never met him personally.

Osiany said the news of Maribe’s loss deeply affected him because he often saw his own relationship with his daughter reflected in the strong bond between Jacque and her father.

He recalled how Mwangi Maribe stood firmly by his daughter during her highly publicised trial in a case involving the murder of a Nairobi businesswoman.

“When his daughter was in the eye of the storm, this good old man unflinchingly wrapped her in daddy’s arms,” Osiany wrote.

“The arms that trust the child when the whole world doubts her. The arms that love a child when hatred is spewed like venom.”

Osiany praised the late Maribe as a father who defended his child with courage, dignity, and unconditional love.

“He carried his daughter’s burdens with grace, helping her rebuild her strength every time she felt overwhelmed,” he added.

He extended condolences on behalf of himself and his wife, Syombua Osiany, wishing Maribe peace and comfort.

“Jackie, pole sana for your loss. May God’s comfort be nearer than ever before. God bless you.”

Condolences Continue to Pour In

Messages of sympathy have continued to pour in from members of the public, media colleagues, and friends as they offer support to Maribe and her family during the mourning period.
