The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on Monday issued a warning to all Public Service Vehicles (PSV) ahead of the official schools’ closing date.
Samuel Musumba the NTSA Safety Manager revealed that the authority, with help from different government agencies including the National Police Service (NPS), will increase surveillance on the roads to ensure the safety of the children.
“The Road Safety Manager and Head of Safety Strategies warned illegal PSV operators saying NTSA and police will heighten surveillance to ensure safety during this season,” read part of the statement.
He also warned drivers about the ongoing rains and changing weather conditions which would the impair visions of motorists heading to different parts of the country.
The authority further cautioned drivers of increased traffic as a result of students travelling to various destinations.
