The NTSA has recently issued an important update regarding the collection of these new number plates. Motorists who have plates ready for pickup are being encouraged to visit the collection points they selected during the application process. The NTSA has been proactive in reaching out to these motorists via SMS notifications to inform them about the availability of their plates.
This development is a response to the concerns raised by motorists who were facing inconveniences in collecting their number plates. Some had to travel all the way to NTSA headquarters, which, as you can imagine, was quite an inconvenience. Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen stepped in to address these issues during a visit to the NTSA offices in September. He directed the authority to streamline the application and collection processes for these plates, responding to the delays caused by bureaucratic procedures.
To tackle this backlog and ensure a smoother experience for Kenyan motorists, CS Murkomen set a two-week timeline for the NTSA to notify people about their nearest collection points and expedite the processing and issuance of digital number plates, logbooks, and driving licenses. It’s great to see such proactive measures being taken to improve the service.
Additionally, the NTSA has extended its working hours, making it more convenient for Kenyans to access their services. Now, NTSA Banking Halls and Offices operate from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This extension should make it easier for people to complete their transactions and get their documents more efficiently.
It’s essential to keep updated with such developments, especially if you’re a motorist or know someone who is. These changes should lead to a smoother and more efficient experience when it comes to collecting your number plates and other essential documents. Stay informed and stay safe on the roads!
