It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of a remarkable pastor, Jane Wambui Galuza, based in Schenectady, New York. After enduring years of turmoil in her native country, Kenya, she found peace and rest on Wednesday, July 19, at her residence in New York State, surrounded by her loved ones.
For over 30 years, Jane dedicated herself to the ministry, pouring her heart and soul into spreading the message of love and compassion. Her journey was not without challenges, as threats stemming from her affiliation with an international church forced her to seek refuge in the United States, leaving behind the land she loved.
Upon her arrival in New York in March 2002, Jane faced the daunting task of adapting to a new and diverse culture. Fearing rejection, she kept her Kenyan roots private, simply mentioning she was from Africa. However, fate had a beautiful plan in store for her, as she met Bradley Galuza, and together they embarked on a mission to spread the gospel in the State of Maine.
Throughout her life, Jane was a tireless worker, dedicating more than 1,000 hours a month to her ministry. Her passion for serving others led her to become an ordained minister in May 1971, and her impact extended far beyond borders. She was cherished and loved by many, both in the United States and Kenya, leaving behind a legacy of love and truth.
Before her ministry days, Jane spent several years as a secretary for an Oil Company in Kenya. However, her true calling led her to retire in 1993, allowing her to devote more time to her volunteer ministry as a regular pioneer.
As we gather to honor her memory, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, at 2:00 pm at the church’s hall located at 1720 Albany Street, Schenectady, New York. We will celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many hearts and souls and find comfort in the knowledge that she now rests safely in Jehovah God’s Book of life.
Jane Wambui Galuza will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her impact will continue to live on in the lives she touched with her boundless love and unwavering dedication to the ministry. May her soul find eternal peace.
