Vera Sidika Calls Out Ciggie Johnson Over Unauthorized Video Posts

Kenyan media personality and entrepreneur Vera Sidika has publicly called out nightlife host Ciggie Johnson over the unauthorized sharing and recycling of old video footage on his social media pages.

The dispute centers on Ciggie Johnson posting old videos of the former friends without Vera’s consent, despite her explicit refusal.

Why Vera Sidika Went Public

Vera took to her Instagram Stories to address the issue after privately asking Ciggie Johnson to stop. She explained that her private requests were ignored, leaving her no choice but to speak out publicly.

“I did not intend to do this, but I have no choice. He privately asked me if he can post the video. I declined. He said he respects that. Today he went ahead & posted it without my approval. In public. So, I am addressing it in public maybe this will make him stop.”

Private WhatsApp Messages Revealed

To support her claims, Vera Sidika shared screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation with Ciggie Johnson. In the chat, Ciggie asked, “Can I post this with ur permission.”

Vera responded on Wednesday, 15 July at 3:48 PM: “Hi Ciggie. No need to post. I already forgave you.”

Ciggie attempted to negotiate by offering to change the caption, but Vera firmly rejected the proposal: “Aki It’s not about the caption. I just don’t want to be posted.”

Ciggie Johnson replied, “Ok. Al respect that.”

Over the screenshot, Vera added: “I forgave him long time ago. I just don’t want to be posted. Simple.”

Breakdown of the Friendship

Vera outlined the timeline of their friendship and its eventual collapse. The two were previously close associates in the Kenyan nightlife scene and frequently attended club events together.

“We used to be besties in 2025 and we are no longer friends.”

She noted that old footage was being reused to project a false impression of an active friendship.

“We’ve not been friends for like 8 months and they’re still posting old videos of us to make it look like my best. Stop posting videos of us to make it look like we’re still cool. We’re not.”

Final Appeal for Boundaries

Vera questioned why her explicit boundary was disregarded two months after her initial request.

“What happened to respecting my decision? I asked you not to post me two months ago, only to see the video all over social media today.”

She explained her perspective on broken trust within personal relationships.

“Can you please just let peace reign? I’m a very loyal friend, but once my trust is broken, it’s really difficult for me to go back to how things were. We can absolutely remain cool and cordial, but I don’t think we can be friends anymore, and that’s okay.”

She closed with a final direct instruction: “Kindly ask your fave to take down that video. I said I don’t ever want to be posted but my decision is never respected. Thank you. I’m asking you respectfully, please do not post me or share any content of me.”
