Epson Expands Nairobi Operations by 50% as It Deepens Investment in East Africa

Epson has announced the opening of a significantly expanded regional office in Nairobi, reinforcing its commitment to East Africa as one of the priority growth markets within its wider Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Central & West Asia (META-CWA) region.

The investment, announced on September 1, 2026, comes amid rising demand for business printing and visual solutions across emerging markets, where companies are placing growing value on local support and reliable access to technology.

A KES 19.4 Million Investment

Epson has invested KES 19,417,500 in the Nairobi expansion, increasing its office footprint by 50% compared with its previous premises in Kenya. The expanded facility creates greater capacity to support the company’s regional operations and serves as a hub for Epson’s growing East African business.

“Our new office here in Nairobi is a good example of what our commitment to customers looks like in practice,” said Mukesh Bector, Epson’s Regional Head for East and West Africa. “It creates a hub where partners and customers can experience our technology first-hand, access training and work directly with our local team.”

A Regional Hub for East Africa

The expanded Nairobi facility will serve as a regional hub for Epson’s growing East African operations. The investment forms part of Epson’s broader regional growth strategy, with the company continuing to expand its network of offices, demonstration facilities, and regional support infrastructure.

The facility includes:

  • dedicated showroom and demonstration area where partners and customers can experience Epson’s latest printing, projection, and visual technologies first-hand
  • Increased capacity for training, partner enablement, and in-market service across the region

Sustainability at the Core

Alongside its regional expansion, Epson is advancing its sustainability efforts through investments in renewable energy and energy-efficient technology. The company has extended its use of renewable energy certificates (RECs) to cover 10 sites across the region, including its offices in:

  • Kenya
  • Johannesburg
  • Cape Town
  • Dubai
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Morocco
  • Türkiye
  • Israel
  • Ukraine
  • UAE Experience Centre

Between March 2025 and April 2026, Epson purchased 416 MWh of RECs to match the combined electricity consumption of these sites, as part of its ongoing decarbonisation efforts and its global Environmental Vision 2050, which targets carbon negativity and zero underground resource consumption by 2050.

“Sustainability is central to our growth strategy,” said Neil Colquhoun, President, Epson META-CWA. “Epson’s philosophy of efficient, compact and precise engineering means our environmental commitments and our business growth move in the same direction. As we continue to expand across the META-CWA region, we’re bringing that same philosophy to every market we invest in, including here in Kenya.”

Technology That Delivers Efficiency

The company’s approach extends from its own operations to the technology it develops, with efficiency embedded across its latest product portfolio.

“When we talk about sustainability, we want it to be something customers can feel directly – through lower energy use, less ink waste and efficient performance,” said Gareth Jay, Regional Sales Director, Epson Africa. “That is the kind of efficiency we want to keep building into the products we bring to this market.”

For Kenyan businesses and consumers, this means:

  • Easier access to Epson’s latest printing and visual solutions
