Kenyans who started with the minimum Ksh 500 Hustler Fund loan can now qualify for up to Ksh 150,000, according to Principal Secretary for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development, Susan Mang’eni.
Speaking during a town hall meeting, PS Mang’eni said the increase is available under the Bridge Loan product for borrowers with strong repayment records. The Hustler Fund currently offers three products: Personal Loan, Group Loan, and Bridge Loan.
“We have people who started with Ksh 500 and today can borrow up to Ksh 150,000 through the Bridge Loan,” she said, adding that about 600,000 Kenyans have already graduated to the higher-limit product.
The Hustler Fund, launched by President William Ruto in November 2022, aims to provide affordable credit to small traders, entrepreneurs, and individuals in the informal sector, promoting financial inclusion and business growth.
