The current poverty levels of poverty has made lots of people more than crafty in their quest to search for money.
The social media having been seen as a ready field for their greedyness as its massive numbers of active users tend to attract the goons.

According to the DCI, the 28-year-old woman met a man online who claimed to be living in Britain.
“After days of communicating online, the man told the lady that as proof of his undying affection, he had sent her some necklaces made of gold and other assorted jewelry,” the DCI said on Twitter.
She later received a call from a man who identified himself as a customs agent based at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
He is said to have told her that he had received her shipment from abroad.
“She was asked to pay the landing fee for the package and facilitate its clearance at a total cost of Ksh. 52,000 then go and collect it. However, upon arrival at the airport, the supposed agent’s phone, went answered,” the DCI said.
Detectives based at the airport are said to have been receiving many of such reports in recent months where young women have lost money to fraudsters.
The DCI said preliminary investigations indicate that the fraudsters mainly operate from Kisumu and Kiambu.
“While we work round the clock to bring the suspects to book, we wish to caution young ladies to be wary of such fraudsters who may end up tricking them into more dangerous situations, some of which may cost them their lives,” the DCI said.
